    V-Ray Render Node for Studios

    Chaos V-Ray Render Node is a command line renderer.V-Ray Scene files (.vrscene) can be exported from the host application and rendered using the standalone command line renderer. V-Ray Standalone users can utilize the full set of features included in the V-Ray rendering system.

    Chaos V-Ray Render Node is a separate executable application that can be used to render .vrscene files and also as a render slave for distributed rendering of a .vrscene file or with V-Ray RT.

    Rendering Features:

    • Faster Ray Tracing performance.
    • Intel Embree support (Windows and Linux).
    • New Progressive Production Renderer for interactive and production rendering.
    • Render Mask to specify render regions using an object selection or image mask.
    • Reflection/ Refraction Trace Sets to control object visibility in reflections and refractions.
    • Max Ray Intensity parameter to remove noise resulting from over bright sources.
    • Faster Hair rendering with support for view-dependent tessellation.
    • Deep Image support including OpenEXR 2.0 output.
    • V-Ray RT Improvements - support for Render Elements on GPU; support for SSS, VRaySkinMtl, and VRayDirt (Ambient Occlusion).
    • Improved Distributed Rendering with Automatic Asset transfer and ability to exclude local machine.
       

    Lighting Features:

    • Probabalistic Light Sampling for optimized rendering of scenes with multiple lights.
       

    Shading Features:

    • Improved Subsurface Scattering with support for object-based and raytraced illumination.
    • VRmats for sharing V-Ray materials across host applications.
    • VRaySkinMtl with layered reflections and artist-friendly controls.
    • OSL support for programmable shaders

    • Improved Ptex support including object-space vector displacement.

    • Improved Lens Effects supported directly in V-Ray Frame Buffer.

    • Alembic integration with support for hair and particles.
    • Improved Lens Analyzer Tool to match barrel distortion using any image (no longer limited to grid photo).

    Note: Specific features are not supported when exporting a .vrscene file in 3ds Max - those include trace sets, light include/exclude, specific render settings and elements
